Three success stories will visit West Virginia University to tout the value of a chemistry education as part of the C. Eugene and Edna P. Bennett Careers for Chemists Program at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Erickson Alumni Center.

The programs speakers will be:

  • George E. Keller II, vice president, NewCarbon
  • Joseph E. McDermott (WVU classes of73 and78), chief of neurology, Maricopa Medical Center
  • Juliana G. Serafin (WVU Class of82), senior research specialist, Dow Chemical Co.

In its ninth year, the Bennett Careers for Chemists Program brings professionals to the WVU campus to talk with students about traditional and nontraditional career opportunities for persons with degrees in chemistry.

The Bennetts endowed the program within the Department of Chemistry in 1994. C. Eugene Bennett, a successful businessman who died in 1996, was a WVU alumnus with degrees in chemistry and organic chemistry.
