President Gee to teach at North Elementary as part of WVUteach

What: West Virginia University president and a group of WVUteach students will teach a mathematics lesson in Melissa Forinash’s 5th grade class at North Elementary School in Morgantown.                            

Who: WVU President Gordon Gee.

When: Tuesday, May 2, from 1:14 p.m. – 2:25 p.m.

Where: North Elementary School; 825 Chestnut Ridge Road, Morgantown, W.Va., 26501

All media should report to the office and show photo ID. 

WVUteach, the secondary mathematics and science teacher preparation program at West Virginia University, is a replication site of Uteach, developed at the University of Texas at Austin. WVUteach is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Uteach with a year of events that highlight math and science teaching in Morgantown and across the nation. WVUteach for a Day is an example of these events. Later Tuesday, Morgantown Mayor Marti Shamberger will declare the day WVUteach Day in the city.
